DSCC Director Agrees that Democrats Will Not Win back the House of Representatives in 2014 Mid-Terms – Video 2/19/13
Here is video of Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) Executive Director Guy Cecil agreeing with Politico Reporter Maggie Haberman that Democrats will not win back the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2014 Mid-term Elections:
POLITICO: . . . On MSNBC, host Chris Matthews asked DSCC executive director Guy Cecil and POLITICO reporter Maggie Haberman if it was necessary for Democrats to control both houses of Congress after 2014 in order for Obama to become a “president of history.”
“No, but it would help,” Haberman said. “And I don’t think it’s going to happen. I don’t think they’re going to win the House.”
Cecil said: “I certainly think it’s going to be difficult for those things to happen. But I would agree with Maggie.”
Cecil, who returned to the top job at the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee for a second election cycle after helping Democrats pick up two seats in 2012, predicted a repeat success next year.
“We intend to hold the Senate,” Cecil said. “No one thought we could hold it last cycle. Not only did we hold it, we picked up seats. And it wasn’t just because we had the Mourdocks. Nobody was saying Tommy Thompson was extreme, or Dennis Rehberg was extreme. We won because we recruited candidates that best fit their state.” . . .Read More
Hard to tell if they really think this way, or are they just lowering expectations for Democrats?
