Here is video of a new ad put out by the pro-Mitt Romney SuperPAC “Restore our Future,” that hammers Newt Gingrich with his own words about former President Ronald Reagan. The ad says Gingrich likes to talk a lot about his relationship with Reagan, but then plays video from 1986-87 of Gingrich saying of Reagan:
“Measured against the scale and momentum of the Soviet Empire’s challenge, the Reagan Administration has failed, is failing, will continue to fail.” At another time, it shows him saying bluntly, “President Reagan is clearly failing.”
Here is audio of a new Rick Santorum radio ad that attacks Newt Gingrich over his “Moon Colony” idea. It uses a clip of Gingrich saying that by the end of his second term as President, he hopes to have a colony on the moon, and once there are 13,000 people there, they can petition to become the 51st state! The ad calls Gingrich’s idea, “fiscal insanity.”
Politico is reporting that Mitt Romney is refusing to take down the ad against Newt Gingrich that consists entirely of a 1997 Tom Brokaw News broadcast reporting sanctions against Gingrich for ethics violations. Brokaw and NBC have asked them to take the ad down:
POLITICO: Eric Fehrnstrom, Mitt Romney’s senior adviser, told reporters after a rally in Panama City, Fla., that the campaign has received NBC’s letter complaining about its recent ad featuring a 1997 broadcast but does not intend to take it down.
“We just received the letter. We are reviewing it. But we believe it falls within fair use,” Fehrnstrom said. “We didn’t take the entire broadcast, we just took the first 30 seconds of it.” . . . .
UPDATE: HotAirPundit has a great post showing multiple Democrat National Committee videos attacking Mitt Romney that uses NBC News footage. Where’s the outrage about that?
Here is video of a new Mitt Romney ad that attacks Newt Gingrich as a “risk” Republicans cannot afford to nominate. It focuses on the claim by Nancy Pelosi that she has dirt on Gingrich that will absolutely prevent him from ever being able to win the Presidency. Romney’s ad plays on those fears – and stokes them to fever pitch.
Expect this to come up tonight at the CNN GOP Debate.
Here is video of a new counterattack ad by pro-Mitt Romney SuperPAC “Restore our Future.” It is running in South Carolina and Florida, and it labels Newt Gingrich’s recent attacks on Mitt Romney as “desperate,” pointing out that Gingrich has “more baggage than the airlines.”
It’s scorched-earth time as actual voting in Iowa draws near.
Here is the latest ad out from Mitt Romney that slashes and burns Newt Gingrich with his infamous appearance with Nancy Pelosi on “Global Warming” a number of years ago. Gingrich said he was going to stay positive – it is clear Romney is not!
If you had any doubt whether the Mitt Romney Campaign is scared out of their minds about Newt Gingrich – here’s proof.
Mitt Romney has launched a full-frontal assault on Newt Gingrich with this ad that hammers him with his own words earlier this year – Gingrich’s infamous “right-wing social engineering” remark on Paul Ryan’s budget plan. The statement by Gingrich almost ended his campaign then, and Romney is clearly hoping it will destroy him now.
So far, Gingrich has remained positive, refusing to go negative on Romney or the other GOP Candidates. It will be interesting to see how he responds to ads like this. As for Romney, he has not been able to get above 25% support among Republicans nationally. His strategy appears to be to just tear down Gingrich and hope he can win with 25%.
The next few weeks will tell us whether Newt Gingrich’s meteoric rise to the top of the GOP Polls can continue, or whether he will crash back to earth.
Ads like this one from the Ron Paul Campaign will be coming at Gingrich over the next few weeks, and expect to see these same attacks on him surface during the debates in December. The rest of the GOP Field knows they have to seriously wound Gingrich to stop his advance.
