Here is an interesting interview CBS News’ Charlie Rose did with conservative U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. In the interview, Scalia made it clear he was shocked that he was in the majority on not upholding ObamaCare as Constitutional under the Commerce Clause, but lost when it was upheld thanks to Chief Justice John Roberts as a “tax.” Scalia called the ruling “water over the dam,” and agreed with Rose that people have to “get over it,” just as with the Bush v. Gore case from 2000, which he said was “not even close” on the merits of the case.
Here is video of Sen. Rick Santorum blasting CBS News’ Charlie Rose for a blatant “double-standard” in trying to tie him to a joke told by one his supporters – Foster Freiss – about contraception. Santorum told Rose he is not responsible for the comments of every one of his supporters. When Rose persisted in saying it was not a “gotcha” question, Santorum reminded him of the “double-standard” in the media in how they treat a conservative like himself as opposed to the way they treated President Obama with his association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Santorum told Rose that the media actually defended Obama even though he sat in the pew for 20 years listening to the anti-American views of Jeremiah Wright.
Great job by Santorum of pointing out the obvious bias in the media.
Here is video of Republican Rep. Paul Ryan previewing tonight’s “State of the Union” address by President Barack Obama. Ryan said to expect more of the same class-warfare divisiveness from Obama as he gears up for his re-election run.
Ryan also pointed out it has been 1,000 days since the Democrats actually passed a budget in the U.S. Senate.
Here is video of Vice-President Joe Biden defending Israel’s right to know what is on ships bound for Gaza. Biden said they have the right to prevent weapons from reaching Hamas. Israel “is at war with Hamas.” Biden said Israel was willing to take humanitarian supplies on into the Gaza Strip, but said they “have a right to know” if weapons are being smuggled to Hamas via ships at sea.
Good for Biden. He’s absolutely right.
