Here is video of NBC News’ Chuck Todd on “Today” this morning where he said as many as ten Democratic U.S. Senators could vote against President Obama’s nominee to be the next Secretary of Defense – former Sen. Chuck Hagel. Todd also reported that Obama will nominate John Brennan to become CIA Director.
Now that the election has passed, NBC News reports tonight that Intelligence Officials say they have known “from the beginning” that the September 11 attack on the Benghazi U.S. Consulate was a “terrorist” attack. Andrea Mitchell reports.
Here is video of Sen. Roy Blunt saying it is important to find out the “chain of information” to determine how the CIA’s original talking points about the Benghazi attack – that it was carried out by terrorists – got altered and by whom. Blunt was speaking after hearing Gen. David Petraeus testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee today. Blunt also said he wants to know how, five days after the attack, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice was still basing her explanation of the attack on the totally false report that there was a spontaneous demonstration over an anti-Islamic video that caused the attack. Blunt said we know there never was any demonstration.
Here is video of Time’s Mark Halperin and others on MSNBC speculating as to the circumstances and timing of CIA Director David Petraeus decision to resign over what he described as an “extramarital affair.” Halperin seemed to be speculating there could have been pressure applied to Petraeus to resign before his scheduled testimony next week before Congress on the Benghazi Scandal.

Senate Intelligence Chairman calls Petraeus’ resignation ‘tragic’ – wp.me/p4HKM-16CZ— CNN Political Ticker (@PoliticalTicker) November 9, 2012
(Fox News) – CIA Director David Petraeus submitted his letter of resignation Friday, after admitting to an extramarital affair.
Petraeus, in a message to staff, said President Obama accepted his resignation after the two met on Thursday afternoon. Petraeus said that he asked “to be allowed” to step down.
“After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours,” Petraeus said. “This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.”
Could a letter to “The Ethicist” in the New York Times this past summer have been about Gen. Petraeus and his mistress? Check the link in the tweet below:

Here is a report from Fox News’ Rick Leventhal this afternoon on the situation in Libya. He reports that Rebels were being shelled and pushed back all along the Eastern part of Libya. Gadhafi forces are on the offensive, and Rebels claim they need heavier weapons.
Leventhal also reported that CIA teams are now on the ground in Libya trying to assess what the Rebels need, and whether they can be trusted with weapons we could supply to them. Obama reportedly signed a “secret order” (?) allowing covert action in Libya. If it is a “secret order,” how did the word get out so fast?
Here is a video report on the CIA’s Station Chief in Pakistan being pulled out of the country because his identity was revealed in a lawsuit there brought by Pakistanis angry over the death of a relative as a result of a U.S. Drone Strike. U.S. Officials suspect Pakistan’s top spy outfit – the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) may have been behind revealing the station chief’s identity:
NEW YORK TIMES: An official of the Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistan’s top spy organization, angrily denied on Saturday that it was responsible for revealing the name of the Central Intelligence Agency’s top clandestine officer in Pakistan. “We absolutely deny this accusation, which is totally unsubstantiated and based on nothing but conjecture,” a senior ISI official said in a background briefing at the headquarters of the spy organization in Islamabad.
The top C.I.A. officer in Pakistan was removed yesterday after American officials said the C.I.A. station chief had received a number of death threats since being publicly identified in a legal complaint sent to the Pakistani police this week by the family of victims of earlier drone campaigns. . . . Here is video of Ann Coulter on with Bill O’Reilly tonight where she talked with him about the “John Adams Project” – made up of attorneys who started out defending the Guantanamo Bay detainees. But some of them allegedly gathered information on CIA operatives – including their photographs – and showed them to terrorists being held at Guantanamo Bay.
Coulter said it is amazing that the media has virtually ignored this story when it is a far more egregious example of outing CIA agents than the Valerie Plame Affair, which the media went crazy over.
