Here is great video of Actor Clint Eastwood being interviewed for the first time (on video) since his Republican National Convention speech that set the media and the liberals hair on fire. Eastwood was asked if he regrets what he said at the Convention, and he nodded, “No.” He said that’s one of the benefits of being his age – you can say what you think and not care what anyone thinks about it! Eastwood reiterated the central theme of his message, that there is no reason to idolize politicians like Barack Obama (he didn’t name him), because they are there to “do a job,” and if they don’t do the job, people need to evaluate that. Eastwood concluded by saying, “I think there just needs to be more actual work and less talk.”

I wonder who he could be referring to, who talks a lot but does not really get the work done?

Could not be better said!

CNN – POLITICAL TICKER: In his first public statements since his rambling, improvised remarks at last week’s Republican National Convention, Clint Eastwood told a California newspaper that Mitt Romney’s campaign wasn’t able to approve his speech, since he wasn’t sure what he was going to say until he walked out on stage. . . .

The intention of his speech, Eastwood said, was threefold.

“That not everybody in Hollywood is on the left, that Obama has broken a lot of the promises he made when he took office, and that the people should feel free to get rid of any politician who’s not doing a good job,” he told the Carmel Pine Cone.

“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” Eastwood continued. “Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.” . . . Read More

TOWNHALL – Guy Benson: A well-placed Republican source tells Townhall that Oscar-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood will travel to Tampa, Florida to attend Mitt Romney’s nominating convention this week. As the news media scrambles to identify the so-called “mystery speaker” scheduled to address GOP delegates on Thursday evening, some have speculated that the iconic Hollywood figure could fit the bill. Legendary Actor Clint Eastwood reportedly just endorsed Mitt Romney for President at a fundraiser in Idaho tonight:

POLITICO: . . . Romney: “Can I get Clint Eastwood to come up here and say hi to everybody?”

Eastwood walked up and said something inaudible and Romney laughed.

Eastwood: “This is very nice to be here today, tonight, today. Let’s clear the smoke.

“I was doing a picture in early 2000s called Mystic River in his home state. At that time Gov. Romney was running for governor. I said, God this guy is too handsome to be governor but he does look like he could be president. As the years have gone by I’m beginning to think even more so that.”

“He’s going to restore a decent tax system that we need badly so that there is a fairness and people are not pitted against one another of whose paying taxes and who isn’t.”

“Also we don’t want anybody taking away the Olympic medals, tax wise, from the Olympic athletes. The government is talking about getting a couple of nickles.”

“It’s now more important than ever that we need Gov. Romney and I’m going to be voting for him as I know most of you will be … we’ve got to just spread the word and get the whole country behind this…”

Romney then took back the microphone: “He just made my day. What a guy.” . . . Read More

Here is video of Karl Rove hammering the Chrysler “Halftime in America” ad that aired at halftime of the Super Bowl yesterday. The ad was narrated by Clint Eastwood, and was essentially a payback by Chrysler to Barack Obama for spending billions of taxpayer dollars to bail them out. The ad never uses Obama’s name, but clearly infers Obama’s soon-to-end first term by saying, “It’s halftime in America.” The ad lobbies for continuing policies in place today as the “second half” gets started.

Rove said he is “offended” by the ad, and that it shows what happens when Government gets involved in big business through bailouts – political payback, in this case, in the form of free advertising for Obama.

Below is complete video of the “Haftime in America” ad in question:
