Here is video of House Speaker John Boehner being interviewed by ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer. Boehner was asked if Republicans in the House would seek again to repeal ObamaCare, and Boehner responded that the election has “changed that.’ Boehner said ObamaCare “is the law of the land.” He did say there are aspects of it that they might try to alter, but it is clear Boehner wants no part of a full-scale attempt to once again repeal ObamaCare. With Obama re-elected, it would clearly not be successful.
He also made another headline in this clip, coming out in favor of dealing with Immigration by supporting a “comprehensive approach” to Immigration Reform. Boehner said he is confident he can sit down with President Obama and “others” and get something done about it.
Here is a video clip from an interview Mitt and Ann Romney did with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer that is set to air tonight. In this clip, he’s asked if he has a message for President Obama. Romney got right to the point: “Start packing,” he said with a laugh. He went on to explain Obama’s policies have not only not made things better for the American people. He has made things worse.
Here is video of ABC News’ Diane Sawyer talking to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani about the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Rudy is quoted as saying (doesn’t say it in the video) that he once told President George W. Bush: “I told President Bush once that I wanted to be the one to execute him.”
In the video with Sawyer, Giuliani also said: “Revenge is not a noble sentiment, but it is a human one. … When it first happened (Bin Laden’s death), I wondered, ‘Well, did he just die of natural causes?’ That would have been somewhat unsatisfying. The fact that the American military caught him and brought him to justice I think will make a lot of people feel better in a way that’s almost hard to describe.”
Here is video of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie being interviewed by ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer about his ongoing battle with the state’s Teacher’s Union. Christie praised the vast majority of teachers as outstanding, but said they need as union as good as they are. He then said very bluntly that “their union are a group of political thugs.”
Here is video of former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld being interviewed by ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer.
All through the interview, Sawyer is clearly trying to get Rumsfeld to say the Iraq War was a mistake, and that his decisions had “cost lives.” She came at him multiple times, in various ways with those two questions. Rumsfeld firmly held to the view that you cannot go back and second-guess decisions made at an earlier time based on information you did not have then.
At the end of the interview, Sawyer even tried to conflate Rumsfeld and Iraq/Afghanistan with former Defense Secretary Robert McNamara and the Vietnam War. McNamara became a darling of the Left in his later years because he said the Vietnam War was wrong and second-guessed himself and the United States on virtually everything that was done. Sawyer even read a quote from McNamara to Rumsefeld, obviously hoping he would say the Iraq War was a mistake and that he was wrong.
Rumsfeld instead said “that’s not the case with Iraq.” He held firmly to the view that the world is a better place without Saddam Hussein, and that Al-Qaeda and the Taliban had to be driven from Afghanistan.
This interview is a perfect example of how the liberal media is really not interested in what someone like Rumsfeld has to say. Sawyer was not asking about what he wrote in his new book. She came to the interview with an agenda, with some things she hoped to get Rumsfeld to say. It’s not the facts she was after. It was a narrative she had already created prior to the interview she hope to get Rumsfeld to agree with in his statements. She did not succeed.
