A massive 8.7 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of the Indonesian Island of Sumatra – near the northern area of Banda Aceh. The quake was centered deep below the ocean’s surface, and it has prompted tsunami warnings throughout the region. This is in the same vicinity as the quake that caused the horrific tsunami that killed hundreds of thousands of people in 2004. No word yet on casualties, if any, from this quake.

Here is video of Gov. Mike Huckabee praising the American people for being the most generous people on earth in being ready to help those in need around the world.
Huckabee said “Americans do what Americans do best when they rise to the aid of people.” There is no question but that the United States has been the generous and benevolent nation in the history of the world. Whenever there is a disaster – such as the earthquake in Japan – “they always turn to us.” Huckabee said he has “no doubt” that Americans will open their hearts and pocketbooks to help the suffering in Japan.
