Here is video of Sen. John Cornyn today on Fox News where he said President Obama’s actions indicate he actually wants the United States to go off the “Fiscal Cliff.”
Cornyn was reacting to the laughable plan put forward by Obama through Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner yesterday – a plan that featured tax increases, more spending, and no real spending cuts! Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is said to have laughed out loud in the meeting when he heard the proposal.
Here is video of Texas Sen. John Cornyn saying he is not optimistic there will be a deal to avoid the “Fiscal cliff” because President Obama would rather conduct Campaign Rallies than put serious proposals to cut spending on the table.
In a contentious Senate Hearing today, Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn blasted Attorney General Eric Holder today for his unwillingness to cooperate in the Congressional investigation into the “Fast & Furious” Gunwalking Scandal and for his new unwillingness to appoint an Independent Counsel to investigate National Security leaks by someone in the Barack Obama Administration. Instead, Holder wants to conduct the investigation from within his own Justice Department – with counselors who report directly to him.
Cornyn called that a clear “conflict of interest,” and called on Holder to resign.
While he is not endorsing anyone in the 2012 GOP Presidential Nomination race, Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn reportedly says he thinks Texas Gov. Rick Perry is going to run, and that 2012 is the “best opportunity” he’ll ever have to run for President:
POLITICO: The 2012 race is the “best opportunity” Gov. Rick Perry will ever have to run for the White House, Sen. John Cornyn, a fellow Texas Republican, said Monday.
“I think he’s gonna run,” Cornyn, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, told POLITICO. “I haven’t talked to him but if he ever aspired to run, this is the best opportunity he’ll probably ever have.”
“The field is not formed, a lot of people are looking around to see who the strongest horse is,” Cornyn added. “The goal of course is to beat Obama, and so I suspect out of that group, whoever is the nominee, people will line up behind them, but obviously we’ve got a long primary process to go.” . . . The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), led by GOP Sen. John Cornyn, has changed it’s mind overnight about Delaware GOP U.S. Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell:
POLITICO: In a clear sign of the grassroots pressure on Republican leaders, National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn just put out a statement embracing Christine O’Donnell — a dramatic contrast with his group’s curt response last night — and writing her a big check.
It’s a remarkable reversal, and a vivid illustration that the base is in charge and has the leadership running scared.
Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee’s chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O’Donnell in Delaware. . . . Read More
