NRA President David Keene talking to Cam Edwards about his meeting with VP Joe Biden. Keene said they knew before the 2012 Election that if Barack Obama got re-elected, he would look for an opportunity to “go after the 2nd Amendment.”
This 2008 video posted over at Gateway Pundit via Free Republic, shows candidate Barack Obama saying in unequivocal terms “I am not going to take your guns away” if elected President. Obama was trolling for the votes of gun owners at the time, and laughed off the idea that people should not vote for him because of fears he would not respect the 2nd Amendment rights of citizens:
“I believe in the 2nd Amendment. I believe in peoples’ lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won’t take your handgun away . . . But I am not going to take your guns away. So if you want to find an excuse not to vote for me, don’t use that one because it just ain’t true. It just ain’t true.”
Despite this promise to the American people, Obama appears ready to join Diane Feinstein and other Democrats in trying to push sweeping new gun control measures on the American people.
