On “Morning Joe” today, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough dared to suggest that Barack Obama and Leon Panetta’s new policy that women can service in frontline combat roles should be carefully implemented to make sure it does not end up putting lives at risk. The way he said it was thought-provoking: “There’s a reason why there are no women in the NFL.”
Scarborough clarified what he was getting at:
“I’m not saying I don’t want women in combat. Women can be in combat, but I’ll be damned, if we find out that the Pentagon is lowering standards for politically correct reasons.”

We must never forget. We dedicate a special page to remembering the terrible events of September 11, 2001.
Here is an update on the situation in Libya. Fighting continues in cities not far from the Capital City of Tripoli, where Gadhafi forces are reportedly attacking opponents of the regime. In a move to try and buy time – literally, Gadhafi handed out the equivalent of $415 (300 Euro) in cash to each family in Tripoli. The report also says that the Pentagon is moving U.S. Warships closer to Libya.
Here is a video report this morning by CBS News saying the U.S. Government does not believe the “mystery missile” was a missile at all. There is no official word as to what it actually was, but many speculate it was an “airliner.”
Here is video of President Obama speaking this morning at the Pentagon in observance of the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the United States.
Obama made no reference to the attacks being carried out by Islamic Jihadists. Instead, he referred to the hijackers who carried out the attacks as a “sorry band of men who perverted religion.” Obama declared, “As Americans we are not, and never will be, at war with Islam.”
