Here is video of Newt Gingrich in the GOP Presidential Debate tonight in Iowa, where he eviscerated Mitt Romney’s attack on him for being a “career politician” by saying bluntly, “The only reason you didn’t become a career politician is because you lost to Teddy Kennedy in 1994.” Romney was clearly shaken by Gingrich’s response, and even later admitted Gingrich was “probably true.”
Here is video of then Gov. Mitt Romney in 2006 praising his “collaborator and friend” Ted Kennedy for his help in making RomneyCare a reality in Massachusetts.
Romney is trying to run away from those days, but clips like this running over and over again in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada and Florida will make it much more difficult for him.
Here is a new ad by GOP challenger to John McCain – J.D. Hayworth – that slams McCain for his previous support in helping to author Comprehensive Immigration Reform legislation with Ted Kennedy.
The ad points out that Hayworth “led the fight against McCain’s amnesty bill” while he was a member of Congress. This is clearly the best ground for Hayworth to go after McCain on in trying to beat him out for the GOP U.S. Senate nomination in Arizona. But Hayworth is trailing badly in the most recent polling.
