Here is video of President Obama during an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America saying he is “confident” former Democrat Rep. Anthony Weiner can “bounce back” from the damage done by the Weinergate Scandal. Weiner resigned from Congress yesterday in a New York Press Conference.
Chris Matthews came up with a bizarre analogy on Thursday, suggesting that Anthony Weiner’s resignation press conference was “sort of like the hanging of Saddam Hussein.” While offering criticism of Weiner, the Hardball anchor also praised the event: “At his best, he had dignity today. He had a measure of class, which has been missing in all of this.”
Matthews made the weird comparison to the execution of a dictator while talking to Ben Smith of Politico. The host complained of hecklers at the press conference, opining, “Ben, it reminded me of the Saddam Hussein hanging today. Even they couldn’t do that right. The grossness of affair led to the grossness of the finale.”

Here is video of Democrat Rep. Anthony Weiner today announcing his resignation from the U.S. Congress in the wake of the “Weinergate” Scandal. Weiner spoke to the press in New York and said the “distraction” he has caused by his behavior has made it impossible for him to continue in Congress.
When Weiner announced his resignation, a heckler in the room shouted, “Bye, Bye Pervert!”, and other things we won’t print. Weiner kept talking and finished his remarks despite the heckling.
This has been one of the truly pathetic episodes in recent political history.
Reports indicate Democrat Rep. Anthony Weiner will resign from the U.S. Congress at a 2:00 PM ET Press Conference:
CBS NEWS: Embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner is throwing in the towel.
After nearly three weeks of pressure building on Weiner to call it quits, the New York Democrat has planned a news conference for 2:00 p.m ET Thursday afternoon in Brooklyn to announce his resignation.
The scandal had become a distraction for House Democrats, who had raised pressure on Weiner to resign in recent days after he admitted June 6 to exchanging lewd photos and messages with women he met online.
Weiner late Wednesday told House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of his plan to step down Thursday, two Democratic aides told CBS News. Pelosi had called for his resignation Saturday and President Obama weighed in late Monday, saying if it were him, he would resign. House Speaker John Boehner called for his resignation Tuesday. . . . . Read More
In 2010, during the scandal surrounding Governor David Paterson, Anthony Weiner appeared on the Don Imus program where he said Paterson should “step down.” He said, “If these charges turn out to be true, I think even Governor Paterson would admit that he would have to step down and let somebody else do the job.”
Oh my. And we wonder why America is in trouble.
Here is video of a woman in New York who saw Democrat Rep. Anthony Weiner going into a bank. She just had to let him know how much she supports him. In fact, she told him, “You are a great man.”
Here is video reporting the news late this afternoon that Democrat Rep. Anthony Weiner is seeking a “leave of absence” from the House of Representatives in order to seek “professional help.” Weiner will have to submit a letter to the House that will likely be read on the House Floor requesting the leave.
This is just another ploy by which Weiner is hoping to save his job. I don’t think this is going to end the growing calls for him to resign.

Here is video of embattled Democrat Rep. Anthony Weiner being questioned by a reporter on the street today. Weiner acknowledged, “I have betrayed a lot of people,” but he said he is NOT going to resign from Congress.
Former Gov. Ed Rendell says the latest X-rated photo of Rep. Anthony Weiner has changed his mind on whether Weiner should resign. Rendell, who was defending Weiner as recently as yesterday, now says in light of the recent photo Weiner has “no choice but to resign.”
Andrew Breitbart told Fox News in a statement that he is “mortified” by the leaking of a X-rated photo of Congressman Anthony Weiner. Breitbart says the photo was leaked by radio host ‘Opie’ without his knowledge or permission after he had appeared on the “Opie and Anthony” radio show earlier today.
Andrew Breitbart — Earlier today, a photograph resembling one that I had withheld from publication in the Weinergate saga was released without my knowledge or permission.
Prior to the publication of our story on BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com this past Monday morning, it was necessary to show the pictures I had received from our source to several news producers, including several at major news networks, to prove that the additional material I described really did exist, which some have continued to doubt.
This morning, I showed a photograph, which our source claims Weiner sent her, to radio hosts “Opie and Anthony” of the Sirius XM radio network on my mobile device. Somehow, without my knowledge or permission, apparently a picture was taken of my mobile device, and subsequently published by Opie (Gregg Hughes) on Twitter.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus says Congressman Anthony Weiner should resign and that we “shouldn’t spend tax payer dollars investigating whether Anthony Weiner is a creep or not.” Priebus said Nancy Pelosi and Debbie Wasserman Schultz should “do the right thing” and ask Weiner to resign.
Donald Trump comments on the Anthony Weiner scandal. Trump said he knows Weiner “very well” because Weiner would call him “all the time looking for campaign contributions.” Trump said, “The fact is, Anthony Weiner is a bad guy. He’s a psycho, and when this came out I was not surprised at all.”
Even MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is now calling for Rep. Anthony Weiner to resign. Schultz said it’s “a little too arrogant” for Weiner to just say ‘I’m sorry, and I’m not going to resign.’
Here is a preview of an interview Sean Hannity had done with the woman who reportedly received some of the lewd photos sent by Democrat Rep. Anthony Weiner. The full interview will apparently air tonight on “Hannity,” 9 PM ET.
Here is the NBC Nightly News lead story last night on the “Weinergate” Scandal. Amazingly, anchor Brian Williams characterized it this way: “The age of over-sharing has claimed another victim. . . . “
Somehow, I don’t think this would have been the lead sentence had this same scandal been about a Republican.
Here is video of Bill O’Reilly’s “Talking Points” tonight where he weighed in on the “Weinergate” Scandal. O’Reilly said what Weiner did is not significant in the big picture of things, but that it does continue to erode public confidence in the Federal Government. O’Reilly said Weiner would have to answer to the voters for what he has done since he refuses to resign.
